Fatal Multi-Car Crash on Highway 160 in Rio Vista

 
RIO VISTA, CA (September 4, 2024) — One person died, and several others were injured in a multi-car accident on Highway 160 near Sherman Island Road.
 
According to the Rio Vista Fire Department, the deadly multi-car crash happened Sunday evening. For unknown reasons, a white Toyota SUV, a maroon Ford F-150 truck and a dark-colored SUV crashed around 5:00 p.m. Subsequently, the impact sent one vehicle down an embankment, a second one in the water and the third blocking the road.
 
Minutes later, paramedics responded and confirmed one fatality and several injuries.
 
Traffic investigators did not confirm the ultimate cause of the crash or release the victim’s name. However, an investigation should confirm the details.
