1 Killed in DUI 2-Car Crash on Road 36 in Tulare

 
TULARE COUNTY, CA (June 26, 2023) — One person died in a DUI 2-car accident on Road 36 near Avenue 248.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-car crash happened around 9:00 p.m. Thursday. For possible DUI-related reasons, a 48-year-old driver in a Toyota allowed his northbound vehicle to sideswipe a southbound Nissan. Upon impact, the Toyota drifted off the road and struck a tree, causing the car to overturn.
 
The 18-year-old driver of the Nissan, as well as the passengers, reported no injuries. However, the Toyota driver passed away in the accident.
 
Authorities believe alcohol played a role in the accident. If anyone has additional knowledge of this fatal crash, please call the CHP.
