26-Year-Old Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Accident on 5 Freeway near Fort Tejon Road in Lebec

 
LEBEC, CA (January 17, 2022) – A 26-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle accident on 5 Freeway, early Friday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on January 14 at about 3:45 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, a 2015 Ford Transit and a 2021 Alfa Romero collided near Fort Tejon Road.
 
The impact of the collision caused the Ford Transit to overturn.
 
Paramedics pronounced the driver of the Alfa Romero dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, emergency crews transported the Ford driver to Kern Medical for treatment of major injuries.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
