1 Detained After Police Pursuit Results in Crash at James M. Wood Boulevard in Los Angeles

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (November 1, 2024) — A person was arrested after a police chase ended in an accident at James M. Wood Boulevard and Alvarado Street.
 
According to Los Angeles Police, officers pursued a suspect in a silver Lexus through South Los Angeles Thursday afternoon. The suspect dangerously raced around traffic and drove on the wrong side of the road. However, at James M. Wood Boulevard and Alvarado Street, the Lexus ran a red light and crashed into a white sedan.
 
Following the broadside collision, at least one suspect jumped out of the vehicle and ran into a neighborhood. The suspects reportedly barricaded themselves inside a building at 8th Street and Westlake Avenue.
 
Around noon, however, police took the passenger into custody, but had yet to find the female driver.
