Procedure is minimally invasive, uses heat from radio waves to treat facet joints.
It treats pain that doesn’t respond to medication or physical therapy.
Also called radio frequency rhizotomy.
It inserts cannula (tube) which allows electrode to access facet joint.
The fluroscope/X ray used to guide and position checked by low jolt from electrode.
The electrode is used to heat the nerve and disrupt the pain flow.
An injection site may feel sore, and results are a gradual diminishing of pain.
